Tiger Bait

Well, congrats to the Bengal Tigers from LSU. The only team I hate to lose to more is Tennessee. If.....and that is a HUGE "IF"......we can get by Auburn, I will be the world's HUGEST Razorback fan that ever lived! :) If the Hogs could upset LSU, Bama would then go to the SEC Championship game. Hey, I can wish, can't I? Stranger things have happened. I understand Texas is going to play Slippery Rock next year to improve their schedule. Oh, for those who are wondering, Harding Academy in Memphis lost also. This was NOT the best football weekend I have ever had. But the Lions had a great season considering how young they were, and as always, I was proud of Matt's contribution.

--------------------

My top 5 albums of all time? I too am a product of the 70's.....especially the singer-song writer era.

In no particular order here they are:
Bridge Over Troubled Water- Simon & Garfunkel
Tea for the Tillerman- Cat Stevens
Tapestry- Carole King
Sweet Baby James- James Taylor
Abbey Road- The Beatles

Honable Mention:
Any Eagles, Crosby, Stills & Nash, Don McLean, Elton John, or Stevie Wonder album from the 70's.

--------------

Changing gears, in 1875 T.B. Larimore announced the publication of a journal he named "The Angel of Mercy, Love, Peace, and Truth". Here is how he described his editorial policy: "The Angel possesses not the slightest belligerent proclivity...not even in the latent or dormant state. It will avoid all unpleasant discussion and personal references. One harsh, unkind or unpleasant word will be sufficient reason for consigning to the flames any articles written for it's pages." He also wrote in response to a letter: "I am for Peace.....my name is Peace....and no word of bitterness shall ever fall from my lips, even in self-defense."

God help us all to have a heart like Brother Larimore! Even more, a heart like Christ.

If we had some editors like Larrimore today I might suscribe to brotherhood publications again. God bless him and all with his spirit.

Coop, I thought about putting N. Young on my Honorable Mention list. And YES, Harvest is an AMAZING album. I still listen to it when Luke will let me borrow it.
BTW, did you know Cat Stevens is going into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this year? I am pumped! I don't think people appreciate him as a musician as much as he deserves. The dude could play the guitar AND the piano with the best of em! Clapton and Elton John combined, with a voice as sweet as JT's. Kinda reminds me of McCartney. I am REALLY glad he is going into THE Hall.

ROLL TIDE! :) GO HOGS!

David...I love you, man, but we grew up in very different worlds. It's hard for me to appreciate Cat Stevens, cause I've never heard of him. I grew up on Green Day (although I can't argue that they're the best...). I saw a record player, once, though...

Neal, thanks.....that's all I needed on a rainy gloomy day with Tornado warnings around! Thanks for reminding me how OLD I am! :)
You're just still wet behind the ears, that's all.

I thought I might get a rise out of a Bama fan. I too watched that Bama LSU game it was a good game.
But don't wish to meet the Horns on that old gridiron, you might need some of your players for next year. If you can't have fun during college football season you just can't have fun. keep on cheering brother the Tide might some day make it to the big leagues.

Deeply disappointed by the Bama loss. Now, let's all root for Michigan to beat Ohio State this week!

Favorite albums? That's tough -- just five? Let's see... These are in no particular order.

Night Moves -- Bob Seger (actually anything by Bob Seger).
Zebop -- Santana
Offerings -- Third Day
The Wall -- Pink Floyd
Greatest Hits -- Bruce Springsteen

Although, Bruce need to Shut Up and Sing.
