Random Thoughts Before Hitting the Road Again

Headed out for Northeast Oklahoma tomorrow, so I won't be posting for a few days. I am excited about getting to spend some time with my brother Greg Taylor at his new position at Garnett. Nashville's loss is our gain.

Congrats to Tiger in winning the British Open.....again. Wasn't it nice to see Freddie Couples doing really good again? And Big John Daly was in the middle of it for most of the tournament.

Congrats to Jermaine Taylor from Little Rock for winning the World Middle-Weight Championship on Saturday night. His story is an inspiring one.

Football season is around the corner! YIPPEE! That means cooler weather is also coming.....just not soon enough. I gotta think this is Bama's year. Come to think of it, when have I NOT gone into a season thinking that it was Bama's year? :)

Finally, I just want all of you to know what a blessing it is to be a family member at Downtown! God for sure is moving in the lives of the believers in that fellowship, and I feel SO blessed to be a witness to what HE is doing. I hope all of you feel the same way about the group of people you call your spiritual family.

God is so good, isn't He?

Greg's going to Tulsa? You're going to have to fill me in on that one. Bama? Oh, well. I guess you will never truly be a convert (go Hogs!) Now to truly important matters. I think God is going to take the Downtown church deeper into His will, whether we are ready or not. Talk about gettin' out of my comfort zone. And it's exciting to hear there are several people on the verge of being baptized into Jesus likeness from the Christian Health Ministry.

I'm thankful you are my brother.

Amen! I DO feel the same way about the group of people I call my spiritual family. Some of them have been dear friends for a long time and were a great blessing to me through the past 3 1/2 months I've been confined.

I hope you have a safe and productive trip! Look forward to your return and new blogs!

Be careful, David. I've traveled many of those same roads you travel. It's hard to describe the joy of meeting people. But often it gets old.
Two things. First, in regards to the above statement. I envy you working at Harding. I thought that's where I would be when the time came. Evidently God has other plans.
Second, it's wonderful to be positive about your church home. I've been in good ones and I've been in bad ones. I can assure you, I'll take the good any day.
Be safe. I love you, my friend.

Roll Tide! I'm going to get out my video of the 1992 National Championship and watch it again. It is time for another one.
