Bound for Italy
I said good-bye to my baby boy, a niece, and a nephew today for 3 months. Luke, Blair and Alex are all going to the Harding campus in Florence, Italy for this semester. I know it will be a wonderful experience for them, but as they say in Alabama........"that's a fer piece"! Goodness. I hope the end of April gets here quick. I do feel blessed that they are being provided this wonderful opportunity to see the world that God created. At the same time, it also gives me a whole different perspective of how those parents must feel who send their sons to Iraq. I'm not sure I am that strong. And yes, I do think about the Father who sent his Son a lot further than Iraq or Italy......knowing he WOULD die. It is humbling, to say the least.
Hurry home kids!
P.S. If any of you millions who read my blog have an update on Chris Cope, I sure would appreciate hearing it!

Update on Chris-I spoke with his grandfather this morning and Chris seems to be progressing. The ventilator and chest tube were removed yesterday. Today he will likely receive a body cast due to broken vertebrae--the cast will be in place about 8-10 weeks. He will probably stay in Cook's another several days.
That's all I know at this point.
BTW, if your experience is anything like ours, the time between now and May will fly by for the kids and drag by for the parents!

A great experience. For them at least. I have visited the Villa and have at another time had a neice who went for a semester. Her parents went and toured parts of Europe at the end of the semester with her. I still often think of Rosa who cooks at the Avanti Italia "school". Encourage them to meet as many as possible outside of their classmates. Glad to see the update of Chris Cope.
