A Quick Hello

No, the sabbatical is not over! :) But I did want to share a few things with you.

A) I am presently reading Bruce Feiler's book: "Walking the Bible". He decides to trace in person the accounts of the first 5 books of the Bible. It's an amazing experience for him, and it is becoming an amazing experience for me also. This book is several years old, so many of you probably have already read it. Pick it up if you get the chance.

B) Gene Stallings just gets better with age! He was here in Searcy to help raise funds for a project at Harding Academy. Some of you folks looking for a preacher at your home congregation ought to consider trying to hire Coach Stallings. The guy can still bring it. Kudos to Paul Simmons, Mark Benton, Kellie Blickenstaff, and everybody else that worked SO hard to make this night a HUGE success!

C) In Luke 10 we have the story of the "Good Samaritan". As you well remember, at the end Jesus asks the expert in the law "which of these three do you think was a neighbor"? The expert in the law replies "the one who had mercy on him". Just wondering........did he answer that way because he was SO prejudice and full of hate that he couldn't even bring himself to say "the Samaritan"? Just asking.
